Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Balinton For Water Board 2026 (the “Committee,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information collected through votemilanbalinton.com and its volunteer form. Our SMS Privacy Policy provides additional details for our text-messaging program.

When you submit the volunteer form, we collect your name and email address, and any ZIP code, message, or mobile phone number you choose to provide. If you provide a mobile phone number, we also record your SMS consent choice, the time of submission, the form language and page, and the version of the SMS disclosure displayed. Please do not include payment details, government identification numbers, or other sensitive information in this form.

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, the contents of your message, and information you choose to include.

Our hosting and security services may process technical request information such as IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, and timestamps to deliver the website, maintain security, and diagnose problems. Browser or device settings may allow you to limit cookies and similar technologies. External sites linked from this website may use their own cookies and tracking technologies.

We use information to respond to requests, coordinate volunteers, send campaign communications consistent with your preferences, maintain contact and consent records, protect the website, and meet legal obligations. Providing a phone number alone does not give permission for recurring text messages.

The volunteer form sends contact information to the Committee’s Mailchimp audience. New email contacts are submitted with a pending confirmation status. If you provide a phone number, your number and SMS consent record are stored as a contact note. Website submission records your preferences; enrollment and delivery through our messaging provider are handled separately.

We use service providers, including Cloudflare for hosting and Mailchimp for volunteer contact records, to help operate the website and campaign communications. Authorized campaign personnel and service providers may access information as needed for those functions. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, or threats to rights or safety.

We do not sell personal information. No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent will not be sold, rented, transferred, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own purposes. Messaging vendors and carriers may process this information solely on the Committee’s behalf to operate the program and honor your choices, as described in our SMS Privacy Policy.

The donation link takes you to eFundraising Connections, a separate website that collects and processes donation information under its own Privacy Policy. This website’s volunteer form does not process payments or collect payment card details. Political contributions may require information and public reporting under applicable campaign-finance laws.

Other external websites operate under their own policies. Please review their terms and privacy practices before providing information.

You may contact vote@votemilanbalinton.com to update your information, change communication preferences, or request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information. We may need to verify your identity. Requests are subject to applicable law and recordkeeping requirements.

You can unsubscribe from campaign emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails. To stop messages from our SMS program, reply STOP; for assistance, reply HELP or contact us. Choosing not to receive texts does not prevent you from volunteering, donating, or receiving services. See the SMS Terms & Conditions for program details.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for campaign operations, your requests, documenting communication preferences, and applicable legal or recordkeeping obligations. We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, but no website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Our website and messaging program are not directed to children under 18. If you believe a child has provided information improperly, contact us so that we can review and address it.

We may update this policy by posting the revised text and effective date on this page. We will provide any additional notice or obtain consent when required by applicable law. Changes to this policy do not expand the scope of SMS consent.
